Nice to meet you!

Born in the small Dutch municipality of Urk, I moved to Stockholm in 2019. Like many from my corner of the Netherlands, I embody (in)famous Dutch traits: I’m direct, down-to-earth, and pragmatic — though I’ve also been told I’m warm and disarming, so I guess it balances out.

Currently at Olink (Thermo Fisher), I design for Insight, a scientific platform with complex tools and even more complex users. Previously, I worked at Readly shaping content discovery. I thrive in cross-functional teams that iterate together, learn constantly and care about craft. I believe great design comes from asking questions, listening closely and never getting too precious about your first draft.

Before diving into UX, I spent several years in graphic design and marketing, which gave me a solid eye for visual detail and a knack for storytelling that still shapes my design work today.

Things I like doing

To name a few — Dungeons & Dragons, (console) videogames, couch-patatoing, cooking, drawing, eating sweets, reorganizing the fridge, trying out new software during a hyperfocus moment, singing Linda Belcher-like songs, pointing with fingerguns, pretending to learn how to skateboard, debating philosophy, pondering, making unintended punny jokes, drinking tea, looking at apartments I will never be able to afford (bought one!), contemplating going to the gym, etc.
